Each participant of the Artix InterCall audioconference can belong to one of the following
categories:
- Full duplex conferee - can speak and listen to all other conferees
except Coach.
- Monitor/simplex conferee - can only listen to all other conferees
except Coach.
- Coach - hears all conferees, but he himself is heard only by
the Pupil.
- Pupil - can speak and listen to all other conferees, including
the Coach.
- Operator - a full duplex conferee having the right to launch
and to discontinue the audioconference, to add and to delete other conferees, to
provide voting etc. (Operator is principally necessary for creation of a
conference)
Audioconference participants list
The Full duplex, Coach, Pupil and
Operator categories can be combined into a group of active conferees. As it was already mentioned above,
in any conference based on the use of DCB conference boards, no more than
32 conference resources can be allocated. For each active conferee a separate
conference resource is allocated, on the contrary for all monitors/simplex
conferees only one common resource is allocated, that gives them the principal
possibility only to listen, but then the number of monitor/simplex conferees
can be arbitrary and the total number of conferees can reach up to 1024!!.
The conferee status can be changed from full duplex to monitor/simplex and
vice versa dynamically! Therefore the initial status of the conferee is
of no concern. Resources of the processors are allocated and freed automatically
at the conference start-up (joining new conferees) and conference stop (disconnect
of all existing conferees) and at the change of conferee status. Thus, there
can be for example, 31 active conferees with any number of monitors/simplex
in the range of 0 up to 1024!!, total number of conferees is limited only by
the number of the time-slots available on interface boards.
