Server part of the fax server ArtiFax runs under Windows NT/2000/XP
platform and consists of several functional modules. List of registered
users is located at the internal database (Interbase 6.0 SQL server)
and is edited by the module User Administrator on the server.

Each registered user has its own internal mail number (extension),
which is used by fax server for receiving, sending and routing
fax messages over LAN or Internet. The routing is of two types:
DTMF-routing and line routing. DTMF-routing allows caller party to
send fax directly to the right person. But he needs extension number
as well as phone number. Line routing allows accepting fax right
to the mailbox according to the line it was received. This possibility
is very simple and useful because it needs not dialed extension from caller.
All calls both inbound and outbound are conducted and managed by the
module Call Manager.
Call manager of ArtiFax
While receiving fax from the caller, at first fax server greets him with
the voice message and offers him to dial an extension. Then it plays
personal greeting of the user with such extension and offers him to press
Start button on the fax machine. If no extension was dialed then fax
message will be put to the common mailbox with the extension "0". If
system is configured for using line routing, the message will be put to
the mailbox corresponding to the dialed line. After having received
fax message fax server sends it to the user by E-mail as an attachment
in TIFF class F Group 3 format. All this functionality is provided by
another module - ArtiFax network gate.
